“Diabetic patients have special foot and ankle healthcare needs due to poor circulation and neuropathy. This is a large segment of our patient population,” said CEO, Dr. David Helfman. “We’ve chosen to partner with the ADA in the battle against this disease which is rising rapidly among all age groups.”
During the month of September – National Diabetes Awareness Month – VPC’s staff displayed a “Wall of Shoes” in each office to solicit funds from patients, family and friends. For the Step Out Walk held Saturday, October 20 in Grant Park, VPC entered a team of 56 walkers and was a $1,000 sponsor with an information booth on diabetic foot care.
VPC’s staff fundraising efforts yielded $3,721.42 which Dr. Helfman officially presented to ADA Associate Market Manager, Cotenna Clark, on October 23.
“The ADA is greatly appreciative of Village Podiatry’s event participation and their efforts to help us meet this year’s goal,” said Mrs. Clark.
