ATLANTA, GA (January 19, 2009) Dr. David Helfman, CEO of Village Podiatry Centers (VPC) announced today the expansion of services to the middle Georgia region. As the largest podiatric practice in the southeast, VPC currently provides care to metro Atlanta through 19 clinics. An agreement was recently finalized for the acquisition of four offices located in Macon, Warner Robins, Forsyth and Milledgeville.
“The middle Georgia region is a growing market with increasing needs for expert foot and ankle medical treatment and surgery,” said Dr. Helfman. “This expansion will greatly enhance the delivery of high quality care to patients of all ages in these communities.”
Village Podiatry Centers’ currently employs 24 board certified podiatric surgeons specializing in treatment of bone, vascular, dermatologic and soft tissues of the foot, ankle and lower leg. The practice is widely known in the podiatric profession for its high level of comprehensive care. The staff includes nationally recognized lecturers, medical authors and surgical innovators who have established VPC as a referral center for the most complex cases. Within the Atlanta area, the group receives more than 90,000 patient visits annually.
The integration of the middle Georgia offices will add two surgeons to the VPC medical team. Dr. Larry Goldstein is board certified in foot surgery. Dr. Bruce Pichler is board certified in foot and ankle surgery. Both previously served as staff physicians for the four middle Georgia locations which operated as Foot and Leg Centers of Georgia.
