serious foot problemsNew Socks and Donations Accepted Through December 15, 2010
Clean socks are something we take for granted. But, for the homeless, the lack of clean, dry socks is a discomfort that can also lead to serious foot problems including infections and frostbite.
To meet this basic need, Village Podiatry Centers is sponsoring their first, “Put a Sock in It”, drive to collect new socks and donations for local homeless shelters. Collection bins are on display at each of Village Podiatry’s 27 metro Atlanta and middle Georgia locations and at the corporate office in Atlanta.
Village Podiatry is asking their patients and the community to join in to meet the goal of 5,000 pairs of new socks and $5,000 in donations. All donations will support The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children, and the Macon Rescue Mission.
Donations can be dropped off during regular office hours. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. Collections will be accepted through December 15.
