Remote Monitoring Socks

Remote Monitoring Socks

Implementation of RPM as part of diabetic foot health comprehensive program.

Village Podiatry has partnered with a leading provider of remote patient monitoring services to dispense a temperature monitoring solution for patients with diabetic or peripheral neuropathy. Patients who suffer from neuropathy can benefit from the early detection of inflammation or injury in their feet. Monitored by our staff, the status of our patients’ feet is reviewed with our podiatrists allowing us to intervene when issues require attention or in some cases, before. It gives those patients increased contact with our offices and a greater connection with their provider as part of a comprehensive diabetic foot health program.

Detecting early warning signs of developing foot problems can prevent diabetic foot ulcers. Remote Monitoring Socks are an innovative tool that monitors temperature at specific points to detect early signs of inflammation. A rise in foot temperature can mean that a patient’s foot is injured and if left untreated could lead to an ulcer or infection. The socks are easy to use, comfortable and washable. Remote Monitoring Socks are covered by Medicare and many private insurance companies.
