Spencer Misner, DPM
Physician BiographyDr. Spencer Misner is an accomplished surgeon and physician. He graduated from Illinois State University in 1977 and attended Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Afterwards, he completed a residency with the Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, Ohio. Most recently, Dr. Misner had his own podiatry practice in Dalton for 35 years and then joined the Village Podiatry Centers family. Dr. Misner`s passion for podiatric medicine has served a variety of patients. He provided wound care expertise to Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans. His compassion expanded internationally when he was invited to Haiti by the wounds trauma unit at the University of Miami School of Medicine to provide trauma care to the earthquake victims of Haiti. There he spent long hours under grueling conditions treating victims with life threatening foot conditions. Dr. Misner also performed a cutting-edge stem cell treatment on a patient with necrotizing fasciitis, also known as “flesh-eating bacteria.” In his spare time, Dr. Misner is a marathon enthusiast who had the pleasure of participating in several marathons including the New York City marathon, the Chattanooga marathon, the Detroit Marathon, the San Diego marathon, and the Atlanta marathon. His greatest accomplishment was qualifying to participate in the 2010 Athens Classic Marathon in Athens, Greece which celebrated the 2500th Anniversary of the Battle of Marathon. Dr. Misner was 1 out of 8,000 runners to qualify for this highly sought after race.
